What are the Best Vapes for Heavy Smokers?

If you are someone who smokes 20 or more cigarettes a day, the health benefits you will feel from quitting smoking are endless. But the question is, which is the best vape for you? In this blog from Vape X, we go over what criteria you should consider when buying a new vape, and also give you some suggestions of specific devices to go for.

What Should I Consider When Buying a Vape as a Heavy Smoker?

The most important factors to consider are which vape juice to use, how much battery life your device has, and how easy it is to use. We go into some depth on each of these criteria in this section.

Vape Juice

If you're switching from smoking many cigarettes each day to vaping, you should make sure you go with high strength vape juices. Consider juices which have nicotine salts, which give smaller clouds, but pack a big punch nicotine-wise, while also providing a smooth throat hit.

Some heavy smokers prefer the more intense throat hit provided by freebase nicotine e-liquids. If you think you will miss the burn in your throat when you smoke, go with this type of vape juice.

We recommend people who are switching to vaping after smoking 20+ a day do not go with high VG (Vegetable Glycerin) juices, as these tend to be much lower in nicotine than other vape juices.

Battery Life

When you initially stop vaping, you may find you vape a lot, even when you are using high nicotine vape juice. For this reason, you should consider the battery life of your vape. Most vape pens may not be suitable for you, as they tend to only have batteries which are around 300mAh, meaning they will die pretty quickly when you’re vaping.

Pod systems offer a longer battery life, and are typically between 500mAh to 1500mAh. This capacity, particularly towards the higher end of this scale, will ensure your vape battery will last all day (and possibly into a second day) without needing charging.

Box mods use 8650, 20700 or 21700 which have much higher capacity than other vapes. A single-battery mod can have 1500mAh to 3000 mAh, while dual-battery mods can have 3000mAh to 6000mAh. The largest capacity vapes here can last many days before you need to charge them.

Be aware that these dual-battery mods can be pretty bulky, and if this is a concern for you it may be worth opting with a pod system or high-capacity vape pen, which can provide decent capacity battery life while also fitting comfortably in your pocket.

Ease of Use

Cigarettes are not complicated. You buy them, set one end on fire and inhale the smoke. Nothing could be simpler.  To help make an easy transition to vaping, you should consider purchasing a vape that has the same level of simplicity.

While box mods offer long battery lives and bigger clouds, they can involve a lot of messing around to get going. Some box mod vapers find they spend a great deal of time refilling their devices or changing coils.

If convenience is important for you, make sure you stay well away from Rebuildable Dripping Atomizers (RDAs). These vapes have an exposed cotton wick that you drip vape juice on to, meaning you must fiddle around applying vape juice every time you want to take a hit.

Pod systems and disposable vape pens are far simpler. With pod systems, you simply switch out the old pod for a new one every few days, when the juice in the pod has run out. Disposable vape pens are arguably even easier. You simply dispose of the vape pen and switch to a new one when you are finished with it.

Which Vape Devices Should I Buy as a Heavy Smoker?

Here are a roundup of the three best vape devices you should consider if you smoke 20 or more cigarettes a day and want to start vaping. We’ve selected one from each type of device - disposable, box mod and pod systems.

Best Disposable for Heavy Smokes: Vape X Disposable Vapes

Are we biased? Probably. But this doesn’t take away from the fact that our range of disposables from Vape X are the best disposable vapes you can go for when you quit smoking. There are a few reasons for this.

Firstly, as they are disposable you will not have to mess around with fiddly vape parts. Take it out of the box and you are ready to go. This is a massive advantage when you are used to how easy it is to smoke cigarettes.

Vape X comes with a 650MaH battery. While these are not quite as robust as you would find in box mods, you will still be able to go all day without the need to recharge. And Vape X comes with a range of tantalizing flavors, which we people are all infinitely better than the acrid taste you get from smoking cigarettes.

The only downside for people coming from smoking 20+ a day is that Vape X only come in 5% nicotine formulations. Some smokers may find they want a little more punch when they first put down the smokes.

Best Box Mod for Heavy Smokers: Endura T22 Pro

The Endura T22 Pro has a lot going for it if you are a heavy smoker. It features a 3000mAh battery which will keep going for many days without needing a charge. It also comes with high-resistance mesh coils, which are perfect for high-nicotine vape juices and nicotine salts.

People who are just switching to vape may be put off by the bulky design and necessity to switch out coils and add vape juice to this device. We believe that the Endura T22 Pro is a slightly more advanced device than you may need when you first quit smoking. But do consider it when you are a little further on along your vaping journey.

Best Pod System for Heavy Smokers: Vaporesso Xros 3 Mini

This pod system has heaps going for it for heavy smokers. The battery is 1000mAh, so will definitely last you a full day without needing a charge. Reviewers often comment that the Xros 3 Mini has great airflow, meaning you can take in large puffs easily.

The Xrox 3 Mini also allows you to fill up with your own vape juice, so you can select a high nicotine juice to puff on, giving you the nicotine hit you are looking for.

This pod system is not quite as simple to use as the Vape X, as you do need to replace pods and fill with juice. The Xrox 3 Mini also has an issue which means that filling the pod to the top can flood the coil, which can cause some gurgling and cause vape juice to leak into your mouth.

Which Vape Should I Choose as a Heavy Smoker?

If you’re just quitting smoking, you can’t go wrong with any of the devices on this list. The choice really comes down to how willing you are to trade off ease of use for other perks. If a simple experience is important to you, you should opt for the Vape X.

If you’re OK with having to fill your vape and switch out pods and feel like you will benefit from being able to select your own vape juice, consider the Xrox 3 Mini. And if having a battery that lasts for days without needing to charge is important to you, consider the Endura T22 Pro.

Whichever you decide to go for, we commend you for your decision to quit smoking cigarettes and go with the healthier option. Good luck on your journey!
